A Year and a Night in Front of the TV

To commemorate our anniversary on Monday, Brent and I watched our wedding video. I just gotta say, Wow. It was so much more meaningful than when we watched it shortly after the wedding. Every detail, moment, face, and comment has taken on new significance and is more poignant and emotional. I found myself oohing and ahhing and giggling over things that I hadn't previously noticed. And I teared up more too.

For example, after my mom put my necklace on, I turned around to face her and we just looked at each other, taking in the gravity of the moment. Then we both started to cry, and we hugged. When we pulled away you can see my mom say "I love you" to me. It's a priceless moment for us. Later on at the reception, the dancing had us cracking up. We got to witness Brent doing an over-the-top dance for my brother to Beyonce's "Crazy in Love" and then watch as Brent and two of his groomsmen dance in rotation around me like three quirky characters from Alice in Wonderland. It was so random and hilarious. Next time we watch our video, I'm certain I'll notice more nuances and appreciate different moments. I'm looking forward to it.
