Nic & Cam: The Hurricane

My poor sister. When it rains, it pours. On top of planning a wedding and finishing her final year of medical school, Mr. Ike comes and floods her house. Here's what she wrote in an email:

"I've spent the last three days cleaning out my life in Galveston. It's pretty strange to throw out just about everything I own, minus what I took when I evacuated and a couple odds and ins that survived in the house. I can fit everything I now own in the back of my dad's truck and in my car.

I ended up with 26-27 inches of water in my house. It left lots of dirt, mold and stink (in addition to the flooding, the sewer backed up). So my dad and I hauled everything out of the house and put it on the curb. Pretty strange to look at the stuff that I like and know I won't ever see it again."

Since then she's been living a transient life, driving between her home in Galveston during the day, Cameron's parent's house in Houston for the evenings, and our parent's home near Dallas for the weekends. Sounds fun, doesn't it? But she's a trooper and I know she'll persevere with flying colors. If you have any well-wishes or prayers, please send 'em her way!
