Some Things Never Change

My mom recently reminded me of these old circa 1994 sketches (I thought I was seven years old when I made them, but much to my chagrin it turns out I was 13), and I thought it would be funny to post them here on my blog. I consider it convincing evidence of my early fascination with all things wedding. They crack me up. I really remember them being much cuter than they actually are (although I think the top right one bears a striking resemblance to this BCBG dress.) I love how the bottom left one says the veil is "butt-length". And how painful is that heart cutout in the top left? And the headpiece for the sheath dress is quite ridiculous and screams early 90's.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that I believe I chose the right profession. Vera Wang can heave a sigh of relief.

Oh my goodness! I TOTALLY remember the one on the bottom left!

Also, one of my friends plans to wear that BCBG dress at her wedding next year!

I LOVE IT! I think I can picture this paper sitting on your desk that was part of the bookcase and came out perpendicularly from the wall. Amazing!! Thanks for exposing yourself just a little bit as much as you did of me with the video montage.

Every girl needs a see-through heart on their wedding dress.

I remember when you drew these avant garde gowns and headpieces, veils, etc. I loved them and knew then that something of importance was brewing in that bright and beautiful mind of yours. And look at you now! I could not be prouder of you!

P.S. Will you design a "butt length" veil for me when Dad and I renew our wedding vows someday?
