Taylor & Mike's Highlights | Austin, TX Videographer

You may remember Brooke and Matt, who got married a few years ago in Fort Worth. We had such a great time and really enjoyed their family, so we were thrilled when Brooke's sister Taylor asked us to film her wedding to Mike. The day was overcast and blustery, and rain was a non-stop threat, but the events unfolded beautifully (check out the pretty light during the ceremony). The reception had two distinct parts: a shabby chic type outdoor dinner with a country band, and then an indoor dance party with an 80's cover band. So much fun.

Here are a few details that I enjoyed:

- The flower girl was Brooke and Matt's sweet daughter. They got pregnant soon after they tied the knot; I love seeing the forward cycle of life as I film families' weddings.

- The dinner reception was beautiful. The courtyard was strung with cafe lights which made everyone look so pretty. The tables were covered in white tablecloths, burlap runners, candles in sparkly votives, and milk glass containers filled with yellow and white flowers. Vintage lace doilies accented the arrangements, and little jars tied with twine and filled with lemon drops were the favors. Chalk boards acted as signs and labels.

- When guests entered the 80's reception they were encouraged to snag a few items from the "prop" table: sunglasses, glow sticks, sparkly silver gloves, flashing rings. Those kinds of things just make everything a little more fun.

- The groom is a big Michael Jackson fan, so it was only fitting that the groom's cake be a Michael Jackson replica. Taylor and Mike even wore gloves for the cake cutting.

- Popcorn bar and float bar at the reception! Two of my favorite foods ever. Different flavors, cute cups, grey and white striped straws...Perfect party treats.

- The centerpieces for the dance party were black and white checkerboard fabric squares under displays of various 80's records along with glowing neon light "fountains".

Thanks again Brooke and Taylor for having us there. You know who to call when your little brother gets engaged! :)
