Stacy and I met in elementary school. Eight years ago.
You see, we were both mentors for troubled little girls at Birdwell Elementary, and our play dates would often overlap. (There was much silliness involved- I was happy to find another woman that could be as unabashedly silly with the girls as I was. I was also impressed by Stacy's selflessness- she was so much more gracious and generous than I could hope to be) We saw each other at various events for mentors and mentees over the years since, became friends on Facebook, and the day came when she asked about our videography. She was getting hitched and I was so happy for her!
Filming her wedding to Josh was a true pleasure. These two are, as all their friends say, "better together". I can tell they are very close, very comfortable with each other (Josh is silly too!), and they were all smiles all day. I found myself smiling all during the editing.
Stacy is in charge of booking the musicians for Lago del Pino, which happens to be my favorite date spot with my son. She was able to have the wedding there and it was fantastic. Here's how the day unfolded: first look on the deck overlooking the "lago", ceremony under the gazebo, reception kicked off with a choreographed first dance, then The Gypsy Kings did a set after which a DJ took over, fireworks (that seemed to last forever- in a good way), the wedding party danced in their purple striped socks, and finally Stacy and Josh, amid wish lanterns, sailed off into the night on a jet ski.
I wish you two all the best- I know you have found in each other your perfect match.
